Santo Domingo

Destination logo Located on the Dominican Republic’s sunny southern coast and overlooking the Caribbean Sea, La Romana was born a small, sugar producing town and grew up to be one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the Caribbean with sun-seekers the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson and Julio Iglesias visiting its shores. Like them, you’ll find world-class beaches, fabulous snorkeling, idyllic weather and some of the finest resorts and golf courses in the world. [cont...]

About half way between La Romana and Santo Domingo, you will find the ultra laid-back town of Juan Dolio. In addition to its close proximity to the capital (a must-see during your stay in Juan Dolio) this fishing village provides a lovely selection of resorts and hotels, many of which are all inclusive, plus tranquil beaches, a few nice local seafood restaurants, bars and local artisan shops.

It is not an overstatement to say that Boca Chica was the birthplace of pleasure travel in the Dominican Republic. Also a former fishing village, its fabulous beaches and lagoon-like waters soon attracted the Santo Domingo jet set and, before long, Boca Chica was transformed into the Hamptons of the Caribbean. Today, Boca Chica offers a winning combination of fine dining, great resorts, busy clubs and, of course, exceptional beaches
